It has taken us all summer to create a custom plenum for the motor. We began with a cardboard mockup to sample position and size. Our first attempt was to make the plenum out of aluminum. While this would have worked, the shape would have been somewhat clunky and simplistic so we decided to start again with a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber. We created a foam mold of the available negative space between the hood and the motor and then shaped those bricks into two round, triangulated plenums. The results are turning out fantastic. The engine bay is going to be functional and beautiful.
